PharmEasy, one of India’s leading e-pharmacy platforms, approached us with a challenge: they needed to enhance their digital infrastructure to streamline their operations, understand user behavior, and optimize their product offerings. Our collaboration with PharmEasy was centered on three key objectives:

  • Integrating Salesforce and SAP

  • Capturing user usage and behavior analytics,

  • Implementing a robust product details page.

Here's how we delivered on these goals and transformed PharmEasy's digital experience.

Bridging the Gap Between Salesforce and SAP

One of the major challenges PharmEasy faced was the lack of integration between their Salesforce CRM and SAP ERP systems. This disconnect was causing inefficiencies, such as data silos and manual data entry, which slowed down operations and affected decision-making processes.

Our Approach

Integration scenarios between salesforce and SAP

Product Data Integration

  • Changed Item to Salesforce: Updates in the SAP material master are synchronized with Salesforce, ensuring that Salesforce always has the latest product information.

  • New Item to SAP: New product entries in Salesforce are pushed to SAP, maintaining consistency across both platforms.

Order and Opportunity Management

  • Order Status/History: Order information and status updates from SAP are reflected in Salesforce, enabling sales teams to track customer orders in real-time.

  • Opportunity to Order: Opportunities managed in Salesforce are directly converted into orders in SAP, reducing manual input and speeding up the sales process.

Price List Synchronization

  • Changed Price List: Updates to price lists in SAP are mirrored in Salesforce, ensuring that sales teams have accurate and current pricing information.

  • New Price List: New price lists created in Salesforce are automatically sent to SAP, maintaining consistency.

Payment and Transaction History

  • Payments/Payment History: Payment data and history from SAP are integrated into Salesforce, providing a comprehensive view of customer transactions.

  • Closed/Open History: Changes in payment statuses are synchronized between the two systems, allowing for accurate financial reporting.

Customer Data Integration

  • Changed Customer to Salesforce: Customer updates in SAP are reflected in Salesforce, keeping customer information up-to-date across platforms.

  • New Customer: New customer data entered in Salesforce is shared with SAP to ensure a unified customer database.

  • New Account: New accounts created in Salesforce are pushed to SAP, streamlining account management.

Key Integration Components

  • Data Types Integrated: Invoices, products, orders, assets, credits, quotes, pricing, shipping, accounts, and install base.

  • Tasks Managed: Data transformation, validation, mass updates, cleansing, custom logic, alerts, and workflow automation.

  • Timing of Integration: The process supports both synchronous (real-time) and asynchronous (batch) data transfers, tailored to PharmEasy’s needs.

Results

  • Streamlined data flow between CRM and ERP systems, reducing manual data handling.

  • Enhanced efficiency in order management, pricing, and customer data synchronization.

  • Real-time access to crucial business data, empowering teams to make faster, data-driven decisions.

Capturing User Usage and Behavior Analytics

Understanding user behavior is crucial for any digital platform, especially in the healthcare sector, where customer needs can be highly specific and time-sensitive. PharmEasy needed insights into how users were interacting with their platform to enhance their offerings and personalize user experiences.

Unfortunately, we can't share the actual statistics due to our NDA, but here is a the dashboard we made for them with placeholder data for your reference.

User engagement statistics

Our Approach

  • User Tracking Implementation: We implemented advanced tracking mechanisms to capture detailed user interactions on PharmEasy’s platform. This included tracking clicks, page views, time spent on pages, and interactions with specific product categories.

  • Behavioral Segmentation: Using the captured data, we helped PharmEasy segment users based on their behavior, such as browsing patterns, frequently viewed products, and purchase history. This segmentation enabled more targeted marketing and personalized recommendations.

  • Data Visualization Dashboards: We created intuitive dashboards that visualized key metrics and trends, providing PharmEasy’s teams with actionable insights. These dashboards allowed the team to quickly identify areas of improvement and monitor the effectiveness of their strategies.

Tracking Specifics

  • Page Views and Navigation Paths: Monitored which pages users visited most frequently, how they navigated through the site, and the typical paths they took from landing to checkout.

  • Click Events and Interactions: Tracked clicks on buttons, links, product images, and other interactive elements. This helped identify the most engaging elements on the platform and detect any bottlenecks in user journeys.

  • Time Spent on Pages: Analyzed the duration users spent on key pages, such as product details, cart, and checkout. Longer times indicated deeper engagement, while shorter times highlighted areas needing improvement.

  • Scroll Depth and Engagement Rate: Measured how far users scrolled on various pages, especially on content-heavy areas like blogs, product descriptions, and reviews, to understand user engagement with the content.

  • Search Queries and Filters Used: Captured data on what users searched for, the filters they applied, and the products they viewed most frequently. This revealed customer preferences and guided inventory and promotional strategies.

  • Add to Cart and Checkout Behavior: Tracked when and how users added items to their cart or wishlist, abandoned carts, and completed checkouts. This provided insights into purchase intent and abandonment reasons.

  • User Exit: Analyzed where users were exiting the platform, helping to identify problematic areas or pages that failed to meet user expectations.

  • Device and Browser Information: Collected data on the devices, browsers, and operating systems users were accessing the platform from, helping PharmEasy optimize the site’s performance across various technologies.

  • User Demographics and Location Data: Captured data on user demographics, including age, gender, and location, allowing PharmEasy to tailor content and offers based on audience segments.

Results

  • Enhanced understanding of user behavior led to more personalized marketing efforts.

  • Identification of high-performing and under performing product categories.

  • Data-driven decision-making that improved user engagement and retention.

Product Details Page Implementation

The product details page is often the last step in the buyer’s journey before making a purchase decision. PharmEasy needed an optimized product details page to provide users with all the necessary information to make informed decisions.

  • Rich Product Information: We integrated dynamic content that pulled product information directly from SAP, ensuring that users always saw up-to-date data regarding availability, pricing, and specifications.

  • Performance Optimization: By implementing caching and other performance enhancements, we ensured that the page loaded quickly, even during peak usage times, improving the overall user experience.

Results

  • Increased conversion rates due to the detailed and engaging product information.

  • Better user experience with faster load times and a more intuitive layout.

  • Reduced bounce rates as users were able to find the information they needed quickly.
